The adsorption isotherms obtained could be well fitted to 20 both the mono and multimetal models. In the competitive adsorption systems, cabbage waste 21 adsorbed larger amount of Pb(II) than the other three metals. However, the presence of the 22 competing ions suppressed the sorption of the target metal ions. Except the case of binary

Fixedbed adsorption studies using chitosancoated bentonite (CCB) as adsorbent media were investigated for the simultaneous adsorption of Pb(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) from a multimetal system. There exists a competitive adsorption between FDN and STPP. It can be inferred that FDN amount in liquid increases because of the competitive adsorption. In the presence of g/L FDN solution and different dosages of STPP, adsorption amount of FDN with different storing time was tested. The results are shown in

The competitive adsorptions of CH 4 /CO 2 /H 2 O on coal vitrinite (DV8, C 214 H 180 O 24 N 2) were computed based on density function theory (DFT) and grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC).The adsorption process reaches the saturation state after adsorbing 17 CH 4 s, 22 CO 2 s, and 35 H 2 Os per C 214 H 180 O 24 N 2 respectively. The optimal configurations of CH 4 –vitrinite, CO 2 ...

Previously, Dando and Lindsay [1] reported on the competitive adsorption of HF and SO 2 on smelter grade alumina by investigating the temporal breakthrough behavior of both HF gas and SO 2 gas to quantify the mechanisms behind adsorption of both gases on the same particle of alumina. In this paper followon work is presented where this research ...

The adsorption of As(V) by some natural Fe oxyhydroxides and clay minerals and synthetic Al(OH) 3 and FeOOH has been studied. The results show a very high As(V) adsorption capacity on both synthetic Al hydroxide (122 mg/g at pH: 5) and Fe oxyhydroxide (76 mg/g at pH 5). This adsorption capacity is pH dependent and shows maximum values at ∼pH 4.

The adsorption of gas mixtures is compared with that of pure gases to reveal the behavior of competitive adsorption under the shale reservoir conditions. The SLDPR EOS model is then applied for predicting the adsorption of CH 4 and C 2 H 6 on both shale samples to evaluate its efficiency in predicting the adsorption of shale hydrocarbons.

The adsorption trends of Pb 2+, Cd 2+, Cu 2+, Ni 2+ and Zn 2+ in the competitive system were all similar with that in the single adsorption systems. The adsorption process achieved equilibrium in 150 min and could be described well by the pseudosecondorder model, consistent with the adsorption kinetics analysis above.
